"Seela Suva Herath Bhikshu Hospital Arana" is the Sick Bhikshu Center built by Venerable Solewewa Chandasiri Thero for the sick monks, where many sick and helpless sick monks are being treated happily.
There is already a Panchakarma Ayurveda treatment unit with an Ayurvedic treatment section, a three-storey building with 40 rooms with facilities so that 40 sick monks can receive residential treatment, a western medical treatment unit that includes medical rooms, pharmacy, physiotherapy, etc. All medical treatment is provided free of charge to the sick and elderly monks with the help of the sages who help them.
Sick monks are given nutritionally healthy food as alms on the advice of doctors and nutritionists, depending on the individual condition of the patient. Five employees with hospital experience are currently paid and working in this institution both day and night for inpatient monk treatment.
Doctors who come and treat from Swachcha, and special doctors who get services after paying extra, also provide services to Seela Suva Herat Bhikshu Hospital.
Solewewa Chandasiri Thero not only pays for sick monks' medical examinations, treatment expenses, surgery expenses, but also cremation when sick monks die.
Not only physical treatment, but in order to protect the mind even if the body is sick, the sick monks can listen to the Dhamma, meditate, worship the Buddha, offer medicine, etc. daily with the participation of the sick monks.
It has been a year since we started Seela Suva Herat Bhikkhu Gilan Arana and so far 60 monks have been cured and left after receiving treatment at our institution.
Based on the concept of Pujya Solewewa Chandasiri Thero, this noble pilgrimage site was built as a place of refuge for monks who are old and very sick and needy in order to seek the noble Nirvana in the teachings of Gautama Buddha.
